Someone is as common as any plant or tree.
Someone is a common little wall-flower.
➣ Tai-yu had forgotten her earlier grievance in her preoccupation with this new incident.
“I’m not cut out for such good fortune,” she said. “I can’t compare with Cousin Pao-chai and her gold and jade. I’m just as common as any plant or tree.”
➣ Yesterday’s resentments were now quite forgotten; today Dai-yu had fresh matter to occupy her mind.
‘I’m not equal to the honour,’ she said. ‘You forget, I’m not in the gold and jade class like you and your Cousin Bao. I’m only a common little wall-flower!’

说个简单但我们可能想不到可以这样说的说法:on a first-name basis with somebody
I've met her, but I'm not on a first-name basis with her. Don't worry, we'll get in—I'm on a first-name basis with the owner of the club.
这样看来我们能用这个on a first-name basis 替换contact(熟人),acquaintance(点头之交),good friend这样的说法。 Patience is my middle name就是“我最大的特点就是有耐心”。

Beyonce
