[微风]21 The baby-sitter[微风]
The book I’m sharing with you today is “The baby-sitter”. Kipper sat on the sofa with a young man. So the young man must be the baby-sitter. There was a pile of books in front of them. Kipper was very excited. The young man looked a little embarrassed. The young man told Kipper one story after another. And he was a little tired. Today’s story is about the baby-sitter. Let’s open our book and turn to the first page.
It was a wonderful Friday night. Mum and dad were going out to a party. They hired a baby-sitter. Mum and dad set the the children to bed before they left. The baby-sitter came. Mum was wearing a red dress. And she put on her earrings and necklace. The children went downstairs to peep. Go back to bed, said dad.
But as soon as mum and dad left, the children came downstairs. The young man was reading a book. We couldn’t sleep, they said. Kipper got his books. He wanted a story. It was not a few books, it was a pile of books. The young man was a little helpless. Biff found the DVD, and Chip picked up the remote control. Mum and dad were not at home, they can watch TV as they like.
Biff was hungry. They made a sandwich. Biff made a really big sandwich. The sandwich had five layers. There was a lot of jam and pickle jars and on the table. Kipper chased Chip with a banana. They made a mess in the kitchen. The baby-sitter, who was heating milk was very crazy.
Chip wanted a pillow fight. Everyone joined in. It was not just the pillow they were fighting over. The living room was totally a mess. The pillows fell apart. And the cotton flew everywhere. The children went back to bed. What a mess, said the baby-sitter. What was he going to do now? Mum and dad came back. They must have had a good time. The young man hid the vacuum cleaner behind him. Was everyone good, said mum. Yes and no, said the baby-sitter. Why did he say yes and no?
That’s our story today. It’s time for questions.
Why did the children came downstairs on page 1 and page 5?
Look at page 10, were they being naughty? What could Mum and Dad have said?
