Taking the definition of the act of splitting to new heights, Feina’s Split House in Palma de Mallorca takes advantage of the site’s significant level changes to accommodate a series of spaces dictated by split levels. Whether it’s a cozy sunken conversation pit at the ground floor or the bedrooms above, each space has its own split moment.

Designed by Ioanna Vlachaki this clever Athens apartment hinges on a helix configuration. Situated in a typical 1958 post-war building, the space was reconfigured to enhance its natural circulation, organised around an original stairwell. Ioanna drew inspiration from the work of Eileen Gray, modernist colourways, with several bespoke handcrafted elements a nod to her client's grandfather, a Belgian pioneer of modern architecture.
