重度抑郁障碍(MDD)是一种与应激相关的心境障碍,与许多细胞结构和神经化学改变有关。近期一篇发表在《Biological Psychiatry》杂志 (IF=12.095)的综述“Macro-and Microscale Stress–Associated Alterations in Brain Structure: Translational Link with Depression”回顾了来自人类和啮齿动物的MRI资料,这些资料表明皮质边缘的改变与抑郁症的症状有关。作者还回顾了MDD可影响神经元、星形胶质细胞和突触的细胞结构,并强调了在啮齿类动物慢性应激模型中的也存在类似变化以及这些变化与情绪相关的行为缺陷有关。作者还利用PET技术检测体内突触和星形胶质细胞改变,并讨论该技术用于MDD相关细胞结构改变对症状学和应激相关疾病治疗的作用。
