三位中国经济学家(Zhengyang Bao, Wang Yanan and Difang Huang)在一篇论文中统计分析了去年新冠疫情期间银行和金融科技公司无条件个人信用贷款的投放情况。他们发现,疫情爆发后:
1/银行和金融科技公司都增加了贷款发放规模,金融科技公司相对传统银行增幅更大(图1);
2/银行贷款主要投向了老客户,金融科技的贷款则较为平均的分配给了新老客户;因此,银行新客户占比出现下降,金融科技公司新客户占比上升;
3/金融科技公司相比银行更倾向于向低收入客户放款,也更倾向于向金融条件受限和疫情影响较严重地区的客户放款;
4/疫情爆发前,银行和金融科技公司的坏账率差别不大,都在2%到5%之间;疫情爆发后,银行坏账率保持稳定,金融科技公司坏账率开始提升(图2);
5/疫情爆发5个月后,银行坏账率稳定在约4%左右,金融科技公司的坏账率飙升到20%以上(图2);
6/现有客户之间的差别并不能解释银行和金融科技公司之间坏账率的区别;金融科技公司更多向新客户、疫情地区客户放款的特征,也不能完全解释其坏账率的飙升;
7/不管是银行还是金融科技公司,贷款利率都是疫情前坏账率较好的预测指标,但这一指标对以疫情后的金融科技公司失灵。
