About 17,000 houses were damaged, added the department. Authorities in Shanxi have earmarked 50 million yuan (about $7.8 million) to support the flood control and relief work after heavy rains lashed the coal-rich province.

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is defined as monitoring the integrity of structures and detecting the damage in real-time. In this work, Reinforced Concrete (RC) containment response is studied after the impact of an aeroplane and a proposed structural health monitoring technique is applied using embedded sensors in order to detect and locate the embedded cracks that is generated due to the effect of impact of heavy aeroplane.
