Tomorrow is the middle autumn festival!
There are many ancient legends related to this special day.
For instance, the "Goddess Chang. E's fly to the moon " which is specially a famous one.
According to the legend, Goddess Chang. E's husband is a great Chinese heroe.
One day, ten suns suddenly appeared in the sky and made all people suffer unbearably.
In order to save the humanity, Houyi shot down nine of them without knowing that those suns were ten sons of the god Xii.
As a punishment, this last one made Chang. E and her husband turning into being mortal.
Over many years Hou Yi and Chang E had been dreaming of turning back to being immortal. Hou Yi went to the west where with the help of The goddess Xiwang Mu, he could finally got the elixir of immortality.
Later on, when Hou Yi wasn't at home, one of his apprentices decided to steal that elixir.
In order to save the drink from the enemy, Chang E had no choice but to drink it by herself. She turned into a goddess, she flew to the moon and since then, became the immortal Moon Palace Goddess.
To put in a nutshell, Chang E is now one of the main Mid-Autumn Festival's symbols.
During this Festival, Chinese people reunite with their families, admire the bright moon and enjoy the moon cakes.
