Two examples of Sarmatian gold from Khokhlach barrow, 1st c BCE-1st c CE. The inlay contains coral, glass, turquoise. The small bust might be of the goddess Tabiti, worshipped by several Iron Age nomadic peoples. Wish this stunning treasure was more widely published. #art# https://t.cn/A6avHyiG

镀金石膏头像面具木乃伊,罗马时期埃及 #AncientArt# #Archaeology#
Yet another Roman-era gilded mummy from the "Golden Mummies of Egypt" exhibit presenting mummies in the collections of the Manchester Museum displayed in the North Carolina Museum of Art in June 2021 courtesy of my good friend Allan Gluck.
"This unnamed woman has her hair in fashionable Roman style and wears Pharaonic-inspired coiled serpent bangles typical of 1st century CE Hawara. Although lacking any remaining trace of a decorated outer shroud, the mask is carefully modelled in gilded plaster with inlaid eyes and eyelashes added in bronze." https://t.cn/A6Xry0ew
